Intent

TAS was commissioned to design the terminal building and associated facilities for a new International Airport at New Bight Cat Island.

Built just south of the existing terminal its signature low slung massing comprises the main terminal with its industrial vibe Porte Cochere passenger drop-off and a rental car center.

The design, seems familiar and fresh all at once. Its look of familiarity gives little indication of the dramatic airiness of the interior spaces.

The material selection and clever application speaks to the need for durability and low maintenance.

Ancillary support structures include paid parking, fire station, maintenance building and fixed base private terminal.

Also included are aircraft parking apron, taxiway and extended and refurbished  existing runway.
